The Lions baseball tournament is not a commercial venture. It's a labor of love, organized and put on by people who love baseball, love kids, and love to have fun. Other than the umpires, no one is paid for their work.
The tournament would not be possible without the tremendous efforts of dozens of volunteers who help prepare the fields, deliver balls and equipment, pass out programs, take tickets and do all the hundreds of little jobs that help make the tournament a big success every year.
So if you love baseball, kids, or just having fun, please volunteer to help out with the tournament. You don't have to be a member of the Lions. You don't have to be affiliated with any team. You don't need a lot of free time. A few hours here and there will do just fine.
To volunteer, or just to get information about volunteering, contact Judge Peter Gallagher, tournament chairman, email: email@example.com
The largest service organization in the world, Lions International, does a lot more than sponsor baseball tournaments. We help those less fortunate than ourselves -- the blind, the disabled, the needy. We work to make our communities better places to live. If you truly want to make a meaningful difference in your community, join a Lions Club near you.
